Healthcare Reform Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1
Healthcare Reform - Essay Example Health care reforms have led to many bureaucracies within the health care industry. For example, before a person can be attended to, he or she must produce identification documents. The medical personnel has to ascertain that you are who you claim to be and whether you have medical insurance. This screening process is flawed be against the poor who cannot afford medical insurance, as well as the illegal aliens in the country. These reforms have made the medical process slower in its service delivery, with the constant paperwork required to start the medical process. The long and prolonged processes lead to prolonged delays.Even as I oppose health care reforms, there is one undeniable counter argument in regards to these reforms. Health care reforms have led to the incorporation of technology within the health care industry. Before technology, processes like record keeping were tiresome because medical personnel could not keep track of which records were required for a specific task. There were constant mix-ups with information being put in the wrong files and documents, but the introduction of technological equipment such as computers has made work easier. Large quantities of data regarding the patients could be entered into computers and could be easily retrievable for use by the medical personnel. Technology has also enabled the monitoring of patients easier with the emergence of wireless and wearable medical devices, which alert the medical personnel of any issues that might arise remotely.

Dealing with Crime and Disorder in Urban Parks Essay
Dealing with Crime and Disorder in Urban Parks - Essay Example The parks in the urban areas are quite large and the security that is present in these parks is not strong enough and not in much number that they can keep a strong check on what is going inside the park. They are only responsible of watching over the outside of the park that no terrorist or burglar enters the park; they only keep an eye on the people who are entering the gate and do not allow who they feel suspicious. The illegal drug dealers know many ways and techniques through which they can make their way to various places from which they can trade and the drug dealers have now chosen urban parks as their main spot of dealing and they usually enter the park well dressed and like respectable ordinary people so the security officers cannot differentiate them from ordinary people. These people then carry out their illegal business in the park and it can only be observed by the people who visit parks regularly for recreation and it cannot be stopped by the local security officers. T his crime has increased and become wide spread and nearly all big parks in the urban areas have been reported for the same issue. ... rolling or other such things then they inform their in charges which then come in a jiffy and quickly wind up their work before any concerned official can get informed and make any sort of raid. The illegal drug dealers have a very wide spread network and informants who are also wide spread in many different years who keep an alert eye 24/7 to prevent their business from being caught by the police (Kinnane, 1979). A very sad part of this whole case is that there are some black sheeps of our own police department who themselves are involved in such activities and business and they are basically those who inform these drug dealers about the raid the police are about to do and other details being discussed in the police department like informing them about the operational planning of the police department. The greatest threat that this business pose is the wide dealing of syringes; the dealers do not care about the syringes being used or unused, they just sell them and the addicted are in so want of them that they also do not care about the syringe and this is a major reason for many incurable diseases that are now a days becoming wide spread in many parts of the country. It is very necessary that a proper operational policing strategy is developed to control this serious and rapidly increasing issue (Ireland, 1996). A proper operational strategy must be designed in order to eliminate this issue from the root. If a weak strategy is designed then it will not be able to overpower the strong network of the illegal drugs business dealers. Like other departments it has become a necessity for the police department as well to design strategies, tactics and techniques and pay a lot of attention towards strategic planning in the past few years because with the advancements in

Argument essay with research Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Argument with research - Essay Example According to Katz and Green, for decades business owners had always thought that the greatest challenge that was facing their business was the insufficiency of financing to start their businesses when in fact it is not (2009). it is this product or service that would satisfy a certain demand or a product or service that can create demand. I can cite several example of entrepreneurs who started with almost no capital and are now successful and very rich. Foremost, is the example of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak who started the now very famous Apple in a garage. Both of them had no money then that they have to create their first computer in the garage of Steve Jobsââ¬â¢ parents . The computer was great and from then on capital just followed enabling the company to create revolutionary products such as iPhone, iPad, iTouch and iPad. This only shows that a very good business idea can create capital by itself. Another example is the famous search engine Google. Google just started in a dorm room way back in college. Back then, it was still called as ââ¬Å"BackRubâ⬠in 1996 and its founder was just a college student just like me, without capital to start a business. But a great idea is not enough to start a business. Equally important is that one must act on his or her business idea. There are a lot of people with great business ideas that did not materialize because they did not acted it. Perhaps that are anxious about the risk involved in business or just plainly lazy to act on their ideas. Starting a business requires the ability to take risk and extra ordinary determination to succeed coupled with unparralled hard work. This was elaborated by Zimmerer and Scarborough who explained that ââ¬Å"an entrepreneur is one who creates a new business in the face of risk and uncertainty for the purpose of achieving profit and growth by

Reflective write-up - Essay Example retention is a process ââ¬Å"in which the employees are encouraged to remain with the organization for the maximum period of time or until the completion of the project.â⬠This was the exact weakness of the organization because measures were not put in place by previous managers to ensure that employees stayed at post till as long as their services were needed. The absence of employee retention, a situation known as employee turnover occurs. In the view of Clint (2011), ââ¬Å"Employee turnover occurs when employees voluntarily leave their jobs and must be replaced.â⬠To this effect, my services was employed to take charge of the recruitment of the organization for the year 2010 to ensure through my duty that employees were retained. The need to have someone playing the role of a recruitment manager as an attempt to ensure employee retention was in the right direction because one of the factors that has been identified to be the cause of employee turnover is poor recruitment. Explaining what recruitment is, Stevens (2010) assert that ââ¬Å"Recruitment is the process of having the right person, in the right place, at the right time.â⬠It is therefore logical to assume that if the right people are not put at the right place, they would surely leave. In this direction, The Missouri Business Journal (2011) advice that in recruitment, it is always important to hire ââ¬Å"the people that are a good "fit" with the culture of the organization ââ¬â meaning that their values, principles, and goals clearly match those of the companyâ⬠. Most often than not, managers loss site of their role in using recruitment to ensure the long term. I was therefore called upon to play this all important role of a manager i n charge of recruitment. The task that was assigned to me was more of an opportunity than a merit because I was still a subordinate worker of the organization. For this reason, I became extremely excited about the appointment. In relation to leadership or managerial style, I felt

How Do Privacy Rights Extend To Sexual Orientation Essay
How Do Privacy Rights Extend To Sexual Orientation - Essay Example The different laws that have been enacted in the United States of America and the roles that have been played by the Supreme Court and the political parties have to be taken into account when one is analyzing the reasons for the marginalization of the homosexual community and the reluctance that society has had in opening up to this community. In certain cases, the Supreme Court has refused to accord the same status to homosexual couples as heterosexual couples (Government by the People). This automatically assigns to these couples lower status that would induce them to conceal their sexual orientation a secret. In a lot of cases, people fail to recognize their own orientations because of the social stigma that is caused by judgments that place them on a lower level than their ââ¬Ëstraightââ¬â¢ counterparts. In these cases, there is a covert intrusion into the lives of these people that the state effects. While invading the privacy of these groups by marking locations where the ir sexuality can be expressed in terms of the very geographical boundaries within which people of a certain sexual orientation are allowed to make their sexual choices (the rights that homosexual couples have varies from one state to the other), the state also drags their problems into the public domain, thus making them face the stigma of a homophobic society. There are also cases when individuals of a homosexual orientation are not allowed to participate in certain associations which consist of only members of their own sex (Government by the People). This limits the choices that people of this community have and makes them make decisions that affect their privacy greatly.
